How to root , install clockworkmod recovery , stock recovery in Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

root and ClockworkMod Recovery package ( 6.59 MB )  

stock Android recovery package ( 5.21 MB )  

Instructions

Flashing ClockworkMod Recovery

1. Extract the root package ZIP file on your computer. You will get the 4 files named below:
   • odin3 v1.85.exe
   • Odin3.ini
   • HighOnAndroidCWMRecoveryGTN8000.tar
   • CWM-SuperSU-v0.94.zip
2. Copy the CWM-SuperSU-v0.94.zip file to the internal SD card on your tablet.
3. Double click odin3 v1.85.exe file to launch Odin.
4. Once Odin is fully launched, click the PDA button and chooseHighOnAndroidCWMRecoveryGTN8000.tar file.
   • Note: Do not change any options in Odin but only the required file on the PDA tab.
5. Turn off your tablet.
6. Boot your tablet to Download Mode by pressing and holding down the Power button and Volume Down button together until a “Warning!!” message appears on the screen. Press Volume Up button to proceed to Download Mode.
7. Using the USB cable, connect your tablet to our computer. A message that says “Added!” will appear in Odin’s message box located in the bottom-left-hand corner.
   • Note: If the message doesn’t appear, it is possible there are issues with your divers. You need to reinstall the drivers and repeat steps from step 3.
8. To start flashing CWM Recovery, click the Start button in Odin. The tablet will automatically reboot. A “PASS!” message will also appear in Odin. When you see the message, you can safely disconnect your tablet from your computer.
9. Your tablet now has ClockworkMod Recovery.  Continue to the next section if you want to root your tablet. 

Rooting the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

1. Turn off your tablet.
2. Boot your tablet to ClockworkMod Recovery by pressing and holding down the Power button and Volume Up button together. Once the screen turns on, release only the Power button and keep holding down the Volume Up button until the your tablet is in ClockworkMod Recovery Mode.
   • Note: You can use the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons to scroll through the options, while using the Power button to select an option.
3. Choose Install ZIP from SD card, on the next screen also select Choose ZIP from SD card.
4. Locate and select the CWM-SuperSU-v0.94.zip file and confirm the installation on the next screen.
5. When the installation is completed, go back to the main menu and select Reboot system now to reboot your tablet.
6. Once the tablet is fully booted, connect to the Internet.
7. Launch the SuperSU app from your app menu. When prompted, tap Continue then tapOK. You can then safely close the app.

Well done! You can now install apps that require root access. To allow root access, just tapGrant when prompted. 

Returning to Stock Recovery

Follow the steps below if you want to remove ClockworkMod Recovery and revert to stock Android recovery so that you can download and install official updates for your tablet.

1. Double click odin3 v1.85.exe file to start Odin.
2. Once Odin is fully launched, click the PDA button and choose N8000_StockRecovery.tar file.
3. Turn off your tablet.
4. Boot your tablet to Download Mode by pressing and holding down the Power button and Volume Down button together until the screen displays a “Warning!!” message. Press Volume Up button to proceed to Download Mode.
5. Using the USB cable, connect your tablet to your computer. A message that says “Added!” will appear in Odin’s message box in the bottom-left-hand corner.
6. To start flashing Stock Recovery, click the Start button in Odin. The tablet will automatically reboot and a “PASS!” message will also appear in Odin. When you see the message, you can safely disconnect your tablet from your computer.
